Rayburn is a big place where would you be going on Rayburn? Are you fishing out of a boat or from the bank?

Be careful in the big water around the dam, Powell Park, etc. Big Sam can get rougher quicker than almost any lake I've seen. North and South winds will tear it up quick.

Quick advice on Rayburn... Figure out where you will be launching. If you are going out of Jackson Hill Marina you can fish the Deer Stand or Harvey Creek. Harvey Creek has a boat ramp as well. Harvey Creek in itself would be protected from the wind and it fishes like a lake in itself.
If you go out of the Twin Dikes Public area down on the South end you can fish Farmers, Five Fingers, Coleman, or Veach. Definately keep an eye on the weather if you venture toward Veach.
Right now fish shallow drains and creek channels near spawning flats. Throw red rattletraps and texas rigged lizards. If you are any good with a jig they will work as well. Definately want to be throwing a rattle trap in red or shad color....
Read a map and look for big flats with creek channels that run near the flats. That is where you want to be fishing now....
You may get some more and different opinions but hope this helps....
