Nope...I'll be either at 1378 or Rowlett creek this weekend..maybe both. This weather staying warm like it is should be good for the bite!

If you got out to 1378 today around 4 I bet we just missed you. We left right at 4 and headed over to Castle Hills in Carrollton. My buddy caught a decent bass on a spinnerbait at 1378 but that was it during the 2 hours we were there.
At Castle Hill I caught one dink on a small jig but OH MY GOD, my buddy must have pulled in 12 or 13 catfish. He started with two poles and couldn't get one fish off before the other one was bit. I was stubborn and kept fishing for bass and didn't see catch anything after that first dink.
If you like the catfish bite you need to head over there.

I haven't been able to get out at all...just getting over a NASTY flu bug. 2 whole days in bed. I'm gonna try to get out to 1378 on Thursday and Friday evening. Anybody else gonna make it out?

I fished 2 ponds yesterday with 2 of my buddies..we started at 10 a.m. and stopped at around 5 ish...We hit a pond off of Preston Meadows..not sure what its called but wow what a NICE pond..Fallen trees and timber/ structure everywhere!..I had 2 dinks on a spinnerbait and by buddie got a decent one about 1 1/2 lbs on a Garlic worm..we then headed out to a pond in Willow Bend I always liked..but the thing about the willow bend pond is the security..they will come and kick you out in a heartbeat (you have to be a resident) but I was feelin lucky that day and boy was I glad we hit it..we absolutely SLAYED the bass on pink/chart spinnerbaits total between Me and my friend Matt was around 35 or 36 bass one after another..right before the Storm they were on fire..My thumb is shredded!!! what a good day

Hello Knot - I live very close to Preston Meadow, and for the life of me I can't recall a pond of this street? Also that pond in Willow Bend is fantastic, but security is normally very quick to escort you out. Do you park on the street by the dam and walk up that way?

Hey Knot - which Willow Bend pond are you referring to? The big one where you gotta walk up and over a big hill....They are draining it for some reason..it was like 2-3 ft low.

Its kinda hidden...I found it by driving down leagcy..hangin a left on Preston meadows going towards that middle school..then I hang a right into a neigboorhood..its behind a neigborhood..they built some kind of park around it.

Yes - they are putting some riprap in all along the spillway to stop the erosion. It's going to fish a little different - hopefully better! With the grass along that edge it used to be great froggin' early & late. Hope they get it done soon - they'll be f-in' with the spawn!
