This is true my friend sais his son knew a boy who released a boa snake at grapevine.Yea right,so I went crappie fishing at the docks at twin coves about a week ago,put my minnows in the water and got my rod ready went to reach for a minnow and naghhhh there it was at my minnow bucket. Now I see snakes all the time out there but this snake had eyes like a cat and was about 5 ft.long black on tan in color I like to messed on myself. It actually looked at me and then when I moved it slithered itself under the docks and I,ve not seen it sense but I tell you it was a boa and it was there. The fishing was bad that day also.

Boa's aren't usually water snakes. Some species are tropical, but it sounds like something besides a boa.

I realize boas are not usually water snakes but if that is where the snake was released wouldnt it have to adapt? also the snake I saw had emerald green eyes and I have never seen a native snake with those kind of eyes.Could this snake be a threat to kids on the dock?Or even adults?

Boas are great swimmers and take to the water readily, they are closeley related to anacondas. What you saw is probably a common Boa Constrictor. This snake would certainly present no harm to anyone. Someone needs to capture it and give it to a local shelter.

I only smell like fish cuz I've been fishin...
