Do y'all think I would be able to find some fish in the boat slips and if so what depths should I look for? Thanks guys!

I caught these today on minnows off the marina around 7 ft and at 2pm-430pm. I caught 15 but only 6 keepers. Tried jigging but not a hit.

I sure miss that Marina, years ago I had a slip there and the Crappie fishing was really good.

most of the fish caught in the Marina are caught on jigs. Nearest minnows are at Ken's store on 423 in The Colony.

If you don't mind me asking, where in the marina do you find go? I've gone all over Eagle Point and done very poorly. Seems like it's 30+' and no fish. My son and I have wasted HOURS there. Any help? Thanks! Dan

Simple really. You only need three things to have consistantly good marina fishing.
1. Deep water. anything over 15' will do most of the time. 2. Shade. The darkest spots are usually the best, slips with boats or decks create better shade. A large deck with trap doors in it works great. 3. Cover. Suspend trees in the slip. (I prefer fresh cedar) I never drop trees in without tying them on ropes or wire. Put the trees in the shadiest part of the slip. Usually this is at the front of the slip. I like the top of the trees at about 4' deep. If the water is deep enough I will stack two trees on each rope.
Double boat houses (boats on both sides with walkway in center) will normally hold more fish because of the shade. I never fish where the sun is on the water where I want to fish.
