We have a dock on lake Palo Pinto and have enoyed good crappie and bass fishing. That is until about 2 years ago when the lake rose dramatically over 24 hours and was very muddy for a while. Now we are looking for ways to bring them back. The lake has cleared and water level is back to normal but the fish aren't bitting. Any suggestions?

Might put some brush under the dock. I'm sure that will help some.

How deep is your dock? Typically docks will not be good all year round depending on the depth but putting out brush is a great way to start.

Sounds like you have a fantastic location. As they said, brush it out and brush out along the channel. You should have some nice Crappie in no time. thumb fish

What do you chum with? I figured chum would attract cats and carp.

With only 10' of water you might not have fish in winter. I have that problem sometimes, but I only have about 7' in winter.

We are on cactus lane. Over by the dam. We fished last weekend and caught a nice catfish and a few small crappie.

FISHED OUT THERE LAST WEEKEND ALSO. SATURDAY WAS GOOD-SUNDAY SLOW. WITH SOME BRUSH UNDER THE DOCK YOU SHOULD BE CATCHING FISH NOW. HAVE MOSTLY BEEN CATCHING EM SUSPENDED ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN ON JIGS. SLOW BITE WITH MINNOWS LATELY. I HAD SOME TREES LEFT BUT I SANK EM SUNDAY NIGHT. IF YOU KNOW WHERE TO FIND SOME BAMBOO I WOULD BE GLAD TO MAKE A FEW EXTRA CONDOS WITH MY NEXT BATCH. TIGHT LINES.
