Well the waters are starting to warm, but the fishing was still cold. Found water as warm as 54 degree today. We are almost 3 feet low and there are a lot of stumps starting to come into play in the lanes we run. Just use caution. Water clarity isn't bad, but I have seen better this time of year. The wind has it murked up a bit.

Tie on a red or gold trap, revenge viberator, or a jig and cover a lot of water. Look for rock. That is always a key this time of year. It doesn't have to be a big rocky bank either. It can be an isolated patch of rock. A lot of times that is better anyway. Look for it on secondary points closer to the mouths of creeks. Especially if there is deep water nearby. You can also work those creek channel ledges with the jig. I like a black/blue jig combo this time of year. You can either drag it or flip it in and around the standing timber. You can also drag that jig down the rocks as well. Just be ready to get hung up some if you are around bigger rock.

The sandies didn't cooperate today. Found some on a point up buck. All females and full of eggs. Hay field didn't produce for us today.

Spring is starting to book up pretty good, so give me a shout if you are wanting to come out and fish Roberts during the spawn.

Thanks

Dannie

JB,

someone else said they were having problems getting to it. Not good. Sometimes it works and some folks are getting something about saddles and horses, weird. They are working on it.

Thanks

Dannie

I've said it once and I'll say it again. If you're in his area and are wanting to take a trip, I highly suggest you call Dannie.

Delvec,
According to Dannie those spots were good for last year only.

Check my link now to see if it is going to my site? I don't even come up on Yahoo if you do a search for a guide on Roberts. Not good!

Hey Dannie. It's Chris Gilroy. I hope all is well...it's been a while....fished several times now with Ron out on Welsh and Monti. Also fished Fork a couple weekends ago with Clint Wright and going back to Fork with a client with Dean Stroman in April.
Should see you on Ray Bob soon.
