Hate to bust your bubble but i don't think there will be one this year. Even if the water does come up enough so they can get into the creeks. Somerville whitebass population has been reduced to a scary number.

TPWD fish surveys show the gamefish populations are just fine at Somerville. What happens when the lake is low affects the next years crop of fish not so much the present adult population. You can bet that currently Somerville is plum full of whites and hybrids but also shad and other baitfish they feed upon so the fish are well fed.. The real risk is if this drought continues and the lake stays low over two spawning seasons. Whitebass don't live very long and populations will crash especally in lakes that don't have good river systems feeding them..

lets all quit complainin about the fish not biting and go find them whites! cant catch fish from a computer, no matter how hard we try. the bite could have been awesome today(doubtful). we all just need to get together on a weekend and come together and figure this one out.....

I have heard that the whites lill spawn in the shallow flats if they cannot get up into the creeks...

The whites will attempt to spawn all over the lake where there is good wave action but the success rate is very low. The eggs have to roll for the first 24 hours...

like hl&s said theyll just spawn over the lake...... not good news if your bound to shore....... but it will be fine ..... i think well get enough rain to get some whites in the creeks

Well I am not just goin to talk about it. Tomorrow I will be at the North End of Conroe and friday I will be at Bedias Creek. It looks like it will be just me and my ol' dawg going. Everyone else is workin or doin something else. Looks like 2 limits of whites. I need to learn how to download some pictures for you guys. SEE YA!!!!
