What kind of bobber stop do you use for slip style floats?

Do you use the store bought ones? and if so which kind?

or... do you just tie your own? what kind of material?

just looking for some info.. I want to be able to easily cast the rig while keeping the bobber sensitive.

Rubber bands work pretty good. I cut up a few and tie the pieces on the line in a normal overhand knot. Tighten it up so it slips up and down but not too easy. Great alternative to spending money on stops!! thumb

I generally tie my own. To expedite the process, I tie a dozen of them on a hollow coffee stir-stick using nylon thread. I can then slip the stick on the line and slide one off. Beads are easy, I have a box of them gathered from old costume jewelry from garge sales. I will probably never need any more.

As far as the store-bought stops, I like the small plastic ones with the 3 holes. Mostly I use those to mark my line at 80-100 ft., which gives me a visual when trolling a Fish Seeker.

I do it just like ramcr913. Just keep a few of them ready in my tackle box and make them from the lines I strip out of my reels. I don't use any beads.

Rubber bands, cheap, easy, always available, did I mention cheap?

I have never tried rubber bands, but I like the "cheap" part! BTW, I have tried various types of string, nylon works well, but my favorite is dental floss. The wax keeps it from slipping except when you want it to.

I tie my own like ramcr913 does, except I use 20# flyline backing for the stop knots with 4 or 5mm. plastic beads. I also use one of these beads between the bullet weight or slip sinker and the swivel on my bottom rigs. Ralph
