I used to fish it some times as a child. I grew up near there. I have never caught any chain pickerel but have seen some. I only caught a few bass. Very pretty park take the family in the spring and do the 2 mile walk around the lake to see the dog woods bloom. Only small motors allowed on the lake. Good luck PM if you have any more questions it is one of the prettiest parks in east Texas.

I was reading about that and the population isn`t as high as Caddo for pickerel, but the timing is just right as they spawn now. I would be willing to give it a go, or the other Lake Wright Pitman near there.

Fishman12:
I fished Dangerfield last winter and here's what I know of the lake. The area just out from the launching ramp and to the left along the dam seems to be the deepest water. It has reeds along the bank. Directly across the lake from the fishing pier, there are some lay-downs and brush in the water and just to the left of that area I caught a nice 2 pound spot slow-rolling a spinnerbait.
Much of the rest of the lake is fairly shallow, say 1- 5ft, with lily pads and some coontail moss. I caught one chain pickeral on the same spinnerbait - a ton of fun, but I was not crazy about the teeth.
Good luck and I hope this helps.

There are Bass in Daingerfield but not in huge numbers, the Pickerel there aree plentiful but the average size is much less than Caddo Pickerel. I have caught some pretty big Crappie there just fishing off the pier. I(t is a very pretty lake.
