 how do you make a SPLIT GRIP ROD HANDLE yourself?

i was thinking about making one of my old rods into a split grip but i wasn't sure where to start. Does anyone have any idea or any step by step instructions on how i can do that?
pictures are great too.

Here's a tutorial. My tips, use a heat gun and low heat to remove the glue and any remaining cork that's stuck to the blank. I use wide gap pliers and a twisting motion to remove the cork.

Start with a few cheap rods and have fun. I broke my first rod because I scored the graphite, fortunately I followed my own advise and started with a cheap rod.
