well thats what i was gonna suggest i use panty hose for all my straining needs. even paint. works for me

The only part I was joking about was wahing it and putting it back...I do use a nylon footy stocking to strain the peanut oil. I just wanted the wife to know her stocking was re-usable and all she had to do was "slip" into it...

panty hose, funnel, siphon hose --hate trying to pour that messy stuff into a funnel seems I always get it all over the floor when I pour. The corn meal settles to bottom of pot and i pour that on my favorite chain link fense to kill weeds.

Another handy little trick is to finish off by frying potatos, or start next time frying potatos. It will remove the fishy smell or turkey or whatever you fried prior.
