8" setback, motor set at 3 1/2" shaft below pad, 26 Tempest is the best setup.

Should be 74 mph @ 5,700 rpms.

25 Trophy *should* be running over 6,000 rpms, or to the limiter.

Check your settings, you might have an engine issue.

Get a long level anything and place it against the bottom of the back of the boat and note its top position in relation to the bullet center of your lower unit. Get it 3 1/2 in. above the bullets center by adjusting your jackplate. That prop works fine up here. Altitude makes a lot of difference. Check throttle by looking at butterflys to be shure their going full throttle. See this alot, especially with hot foots. Good luck

Or...
Set the boat trailer so the hull is level with the ground.

Set the motor so the prop shaft is also level.

Measure bottom of pad to ground, then center of shaft to ground, difference is your number.

And everything else Gary suggested.

LOL, that's almost exactly what i just told him in a PM. u and i think alot alike Pat!!
course it's easy for me on that boat, as i had one very similar long time ago. 8" plate on a 191 with 200efi, and a 25p tempest (worked) and ran 6200 rpms at 72-74

I had three 202's, the finest hull champion ever built. And setup a fleet of them.

That's almost cookie cutter setup, and those speeds are conservative depending on load.

With a rapair box, reeds and an XB tuner, mine ran high 70's loaded with a 27 tempest.
