What's everyones preference for rigging 3in gulp shrimp, popping cork, jig head, weightless hook? What kind and size jig heads or hooks do you use?

I used mine under a popping cork but used one of the shank weighted hooks. When it falls , looks just like a shimp swimming.

Popping Cork +1, I also use a 1/8 jig and slowly bump the bottom

Good things come to those who bait.

I have been fishing my Gulp shrimp on Spot Remover Jig heads lately. Only to find the hooks really aren't strong enough to wench in a red, finesse Zack, finesse.
Also played with a few demo's of Gulp on custom 3/4oz spinner baits. Which I am sure will be a jetty killer in the summer. Similar to Redfish Magic setups but with a lead head and skirt.
Bouncing those off the rocks should be a sure bet... Maybe..
Wooo!

I've seen the Gulp shrimp in those round containers filled with liquid and I've seen them in the plastic bags. Are you guys referring to a particular one? Also I'm told the new Copper Penny color is good. Thanks

Yep that's what we are talking about.
Those are Gulp Alive, Gulp Saltwater Series mainly come in bags of 4-8 depending on the size of shrimp you get.
New Penny and Natural are my favs as well.

I was looking at those Gulp Alive at Cabella's. They look like they would be deadly for trout and reds. They are not cheap but neither is live shrimp, and the Gulp would be less hassle than trying to keep shrimp alive. I will definitely try them this year.

Mostly 3" inch for me but that's only because stores always have more 3"s than 4"s.
Other wise it doesn't make much of a difference to a red or trout just a bigger meal.

I sight cast to reds a lot in shallow water and I like to use the three inch!!! They hit the water softer and if your going to rig them on a shank weighted hook the three inch is the perfect size!!! I went to bayside last week and slayed the reds in a foot of water!!! The grass wasn't bad so I was able to use a hogie jighead on a gamy hook!!! That's the most efective I have found because they have the spring on the hook toware your gulp will in most cases last a few fish also the hook is exposed when using a jig head verses using a weighted shank hook which makes for an easier hook set!!! However when the grass gets bad the weighted shank hook is most efective because it is rigged weedles!!! I like 1/16 to 1/8oz and my choice of color is new penny but I have seen fish caught on every color that is out...even the nuclear chicken!!!! When sight casting to the reds with the gulps...if you don't set the hook right away you will have to put the fish on ice because they will have it swallowed!!!! It is almost the only bait I used while sight casting!!!
A Bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work!!! Thanks Jr. Thomas
