Crappie color tend to be a white with silver glow, numerous black spots, red gills. woot Most are scattered at this time of the year but will improve in the next few months. Hopefully any Catholic can catch them starting in early April. bolt CB call me and we will go fishing. fish

I sure wish we could get that rain i have backordered! It still has no ETA! It has been slow, so I think I will fish else where till it picks back up or we get rain.

Took the boat out Sunday to give the new motor a workout. Fished for maybe 30 minutes. I caught one fish and missed a couple more. The wife caught one fish and missed four. Wasn't to bad for 30 minutes of fishing this time of year with water levels so low. The bite should start to pick up a bit in the next couple of weeks.

Keep on fishing.

Went up the river today for a couple of hours and nada! I was suprised to see 8 or so trailers in the parking lot on a Tuesday in early Feb! The lake is very low, it's about 18" in one area of the shortcut to the river! Talked to 4 others on the lake and they said nada also except for a couple of Cats. Went to the primitive park, but couldn't make it very far past there because of a shallow gravel bar. Today had bluebird skies, post coldfront, so maybe that was the problem?

It was also sad to see all the sloughs, which normally hold piles of crappie, that are now bone dry. Hopefully this will be the year of the walking crappie, u know like the walking catfish!

The primitive boat launch/fishing spot was closed about a month ago, does anyone know if it is back open?
