You could always "soak the cork"! LOL
I thought somebody else would have thrown that out on this one. The SNL skit, "cork soakers". hahaha

i'm with you on the chemical smell on my hands, dont want anything that could turn the fish off.

Loomis recommends 1/3 bleach with 2/3 water. Scrub with rag them rinse with water. They will look new again.

I always use "Goop" hand cleaner. Wet the cork, get some Goop in your hand and rub it into the cork for about 30 seconds. Rinse and towel dry. The cork will look like new.

Rubbing alcohol and a clean rag,no odor left on cork,because it will evaporate....

Mild soap and that is made for fishing odors, warm water and a wash cloth with a little elbow grease.
