Big Daddy this sucks, I was on the phone half the day with insurance Co. aperantly none of them fish. they had a hard time beliving that a cut boat cover and 15 rod and reels can be worth $4,000.00. I hope they get me a check soon I have Choke comming up on the 14th and 15th. I'm not sure about the crack head thing. these guys knew what they were doing. they knew what side of the boat the rods were on. they must have keys to most perko locks because they opened 2 of our lockers at Jackson hill one guy they emptied his rod locker and locked it back when they were done. These guys knew bass boats.

LAKE WACO is bad also. I got a rim stolen in 75 minutes. The Corp. people don't drive around, W.P.D, I have seen them around the ramps and parks..(more than I can say for the RANGERS) And It's there Job. Paying somebody to watch your stuff as a group $400.00 ! ! Why should you? You pay for a room THESE MOTELS AND FISHERMEN KNOW WHERE THIS IS GOING ON..Ask the motel about securty tell them your concerns about the rip offs that you read about on the TTF. We could use this as a group, Put up a list of places that have the problems, they wont like the negative feed back. Let the MOTEL pay for securty, Call The Corps.,Call TP&W, Call the COPS, But the big thing is going to be, REPORT ANYTHING that is not lawfull. Let them know that this could have not happened IF Securty WAS there.Sorry my rant my 5 cents.

There used to be a time when we never had to lock our doors, nevermind the boats.....I miss those days.

Go buy a new lock
Mount the old one in a vise

Punch the center
Reinstall old lock

File the claim

Good information that is about 2 days too late for me. Check your insurance, do not trust your agent knows the policy well enough. They were gonna screw me 1 way or the other, apparently my insurance on my fishing boat did not cover fishing equipment either. My agent was unaware of this clause.

One of these times, someone is going to get caught doing the crime and the scene is not going to be pretty. It will be time for " Hard Love " and a 55 gal.can of whoop a_ _ to clearly sent out the message to others. We all have worked hard for our equipment, boats, insurance and accessories and the love of bass fishing. These facilities are going to see a big fall in there revenue if they don't get the appropriate security on their premises.

Looks like we will have to camp out on our boats, in back of our trucks or take turns on watch to catch some of these theives and then we can take them out for a boat ride.

I agree with you on this. Where I live, I have seen in bad areas of town, restaurants pay for security...inside or outside security. This helps their customers from getting ripped off mainly in the parking lot. It is sad that you have to take these steps, but I believe I would only try to stay at a motel where they have security like that...in Lake Fork..big bassin lakes etc.. So your idea definitely has merit. Those punks need to go to jail, simple as that.

I found this website: www.marineguardsecurity.com

I have emailed them to asked them if by chance they carry some sort of alarm for bass boats. I also saw that they mensioned a wireless marine alarm by Marine Magellan.

Bryan someone is giving you a line of b.s. when it comes to saying forcible entry has to be made.. By law you still have a burglary of vehicle whether or not entry was forced. What would be the difference if a $1000.00 air compressor was LIFTED from the bed of pickup, there diffently isn't going to be any forced entry.

Think you had better take your Ins. carrier to task. Demand arbitration-- you have nothing to lose and have valid replacement cost done from the appropriate vendors where you bought the stuff.

Never would I take the final say from an agent--I am An Ins. Broker and I want to arbitrator with the adjuster. Just my .02 worth

A bit of high velocity lead is all you really need. Save the 55 gallon drum for disposal of the body.

You guys who are doing the right thing and insuring your boats to protect the other fisherman on the lake have my admiration and respect. Being a fisherman myself , I know what kind of investment you make into your passion.

An agent has to watch his loss ratio vs his sales. some of you guys may also need to contact your homeowners carrier as well. Leave no possibility unchecked, and don't take their word for it. Have them point out what they are basing their denial on, paragraph etc. You might say that its all a PIA, and your right, but you have a great deal of money and time invested here.

Don't be afraid to take them to task--they have no problem cashing your checks for premium when your policy is paid. Normally they are paid what is called a renewal / or trailer commission that is equal to the 1st year commission they received., so their interest should lie in being sure they have satisfied customers.

Also you still have some recourse against the agent if he didn't explain the policy to you as to what is covered and what isn't---that is his responsibility. Its called E&O coverage (Error and Omission coverage) If you feel that you were misrepresented or he failed to provide the necessary coverage to cover you fully , you can sue him.. It requires no retainer--just a bottom feeder who will take it on contingency, seldom is a Lawyer worth a tinkers damn--but in this case he may prove to be quite a bit of help.

Plan on moving your insurance if you have to resort to this action, but do what you have to do to recoup your loss.

Good luck to you guys---I hope I have been able to point you in the right direction.
