I really thought this was a good weekend, got to take my grandson fishing for the first time. We was not able to see him for the first 2 years of his life and that was hard. But 6 months ago my son got visitation rights and was able too see the little fellow. When he took him home this evening he was met by the other grandparents and given papers to call the courts. It seems that they think that it is to tramatic for his father and our side of the family to see him. But yet they want child support. Thet have taken him to a psyciatrist and trying to say it is doing damage to the child for him to see his father and us. His mother said that we was never to take him hunting or fishing that she didn't want that for him. My opinion is that the outdoors produce some of the best kids that we have today. Nature and spending time with our youth is what it ia all about. All we want to do is love the little fellow is that asking too much? Does anyone know of any groups that can advise us on our rights? My son has 3 kids and can't afford an attourney. I can't afford one either right now. We need some prayers and advise.

Will definitely be praying for you and your son. I saw the same thing happen to my brother-in-law and his daughter. One day, 3 years later the family had a complete 180 degree change of heart and he sees her daily now. I hope and pray the same for you.

Prayers sent. I cannot imagine not being able to spend time with my grandchildren. Get on the phone and begin to seek legal council, someone will surely step up to help.

pats jigs, My wife and I went into prayer immediately after reading this post. We pray that God will work things out for all parties concerned. That is a cute little fellow and he does deserve the right to hunt and fish. All my ancestors and myself have all fought for the right to be able to hunt and fish in this land from the very begining. Custody battles are the worst. Takes years to get anywhere. At least if he has visitation now it will be tough for that to be reversed. Prayers sent.

We will pray for your grandson. One tactic that I've seen work before is to contact the ex-wife's friends, family, pastor, etc and ask them to intercede in your grandson's behalf. Most people understand that a son spending time with his father is a good thing, whether outdoors or in. Maybe they can talk your son's exwife into seeing this too. Just a thought. Good luck.

Pats Jig, my thoughts and preyers go out to your son and his little boy. I have been there. I was involved in a ugly custidy case with my child and the other side didn't want me to have any dealings with my son. My son turned 9 yesterday and I get custidy of him a lot. He spends every chance we get in the field hunting with me or fishing. I have said on this site many times that a day out with a child is great even if you don't catch anything. Kids can really brighten your day. I hope things work out. Hey like everyone else has said get on the internet; there are a lot of groups out there for the dads. Tell your boy to stay strong and do everything for that boy. It will work out.

Having almost same problem

My brother's ex had three experts during their divorce. She was trying the same [censored]. The judge threw her expert out of the courtroom when she contradicted herself on the stand. She didn't want the kids around me. My brother now has custody of the kids. My 9 year old nephew caught his first fisn on my boat last year!
There are firms out there specifically for fathers rights.
