Can anyone here tell me if there is an access/boat ramp to Spring Creek or the San Jacinto near US59 just north of Houston? Would like to get out there this weekend. Any and all help would be appreciated.

There used to be a camp/boat ramp on the northeast side of the US59 bridge over the river. Call an Academy store in that neighborhood.

are you talking about the west fork san jacinto? if so, you should be able to exit right after you go over the bridge and i think there's a boat ramp there...not sure if it's dirt or concrete tho. i've seen them put in there, but may just be little boats. by the way, where exactly is spring creek? is that the creek that splits a little west of 59 towards Jesse Jones park?

Yes, thats the creek that goes up to the park. The sand bass are in there right now. We've found them in the deeper holes up/down the creeks dragging a minnow really slow on the bottom.Caught a few on roadrunners, but the best bite is on a tight line minnow..

Well, turns out there is workable boat ramp on the northeast corner of US59. Managed to make it up Spring Creek as far as Jesse Jones. Tossing only roadrunners we managed to catch 6 whites and 2 crappie. While that isn't a lot of fish the whites were a lot larger than I thought they would be. One of the whites went better than 2lbs. Would have liked to go further upstream.

I was looking at a map today and saw that there was a public boat ramp on spring creek. Anybody know about this? I didn't think you could launch your boat at jesse jones park but I think that's the only way to the ramp. I'm hoping to catch some of those sandies myself. By the way, a little tid bit I heard from a friend of mine is that spoons work real well worked right off the bottom. And it's true about them being in the deep holes too. Just gotta find em.

I think the ramp at jesse jones park is for yaks and canoes only, the best bet is to use the ramp on the NE side of 59,,,But head down stream and find the deep holes 20'+ the big whites are all over em, I caught 20 on sunday 2 to 3lbs+ while trying to get my perch jerk on,oh yea also caught 17 crappie in the same hole just fish deeper.OTS large minnows were the big ticket.I should have bought 2 lbs

Jesse Jones is for canoes and kayaks only. On top of that, you can only launch there. They do not allow you to recover boats there.

Do you think I could walk a jon boat down to the water on the San Jacinto at 59? All I have is a trolling motor on it so it's pretty light. A couple of guys I know said last weekend that caught limits in the San Jacinto just past the spring creek split. Hoping to have a try myself if the wind doesn't blow us over.

I would just launch at the boat ramp on the Northeast corner of 59 and the San Jacinto. Turn right on the first road you come to heading north on the feeder road just past the river. Just before you get to the railroad tracks turn right onto the dirt road and proceed till you see the attendance shack. Just pay the fella $5 and there ya go.

Can you launch an 18 ft pontoon boat from the ramp?

wwind3, I think so just be careful. The ramp isn't that great and there is a pretty steep drop off at the end of the concrete pad.
