BACKGROUND: I have a 1999 Triton with a MFI trailer. MFI no longer makes trailers for Triton. MFI was not much help the last time I contacted them several years back.

My trailer wheel bearings have held up well over the years. I had to replace the seals on the UFP hubs while under warranty. Way back then, when I contacted UFP, their customer support sent me to Waymire Inc. in Indianna. I ended up paying $4.20 per seal plus $5.00 shipping (not too bad).

Waymire sent me NOK AD2527E seals as replacement parts for the UFP 233-168-SP2-1 original seals. When I asked UFP again about warranty (since I had to pay for the seals), I was told seals were a wear-item. I didn't ask but I guess bearings are too, and a warranty may be rather useless. But, that's now water under the bridge or boat, so to speak.

PROBLEM: I need to replace my trailer wheel bearing seals again. Back then, UFP was kind enough to share the replacement part numbers for my seals:

UFP 233-168-SP2-1
Trailer Buddy 07027
NOK AD2527E
CR 16657
National 473317

Anybody know a Texas source for these replacement seals? The UFP Trailer Buddy hubs may be used on other boat trailers, and you may have needed to purchase some yourself locally. Thanks for y'alls great help and advise. -ray

Ray,

I also have a '99 Triton with an MFI trailer. About a year and a half ago, my trailer was stolen and subsequently recovered at a 'chop shop'. I had to do a lot of work on my trailer. I called MFI directly and worked with their parts man. He couldn't have been more helpful to me. I can't remember his name, but you might try calling them again. Maybe after they lost the Triton business, they have seen the light.

If I can find his name and number, I will post it on here. I wrote it down somewhere, but have misplaced it.

Thanks rb7764, I'll see if I can contact MFI again. I had problems with the side rails in the back quickly rusting off, and they sent my dealer a repair kit, very helpful and a very good solution. I believe there were some staff changes between then and my next contact about trailer side marker lights, really very discouraging. Your recent experience sounds different again. -ray

Motion Industries will have that seal for sure. Take a look on this page http://www.championtrailers.com/bearings_races_seals.html and do a search for the "AD2527E" this may surprise you.

I've also gotten my trailer bearings and seals from Northern Tool.

also have a 99 Triton trailer i'm about to go thru with new seals.
i figured all trailers with 1-3/8 , 1-1/16 bearing configuration axles would be the same.
my buddy's bearing cratered two weeks ago at Fairfied and we had to do some redneck engineering to get it going. we had a standard bearing/seal kit that you buy just about everywhere, but when we got to the rear seal it was too big(diameter).bearings and races were fine.

I love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning !!!

Like Bullet said. And they have the kits that come with a sleeve for repairing the spindle seal surface. You will need to measure the spindle seal O.D. area and the hub I.D. to get the right kit.

Rippstein,

Contact Parts@BassCat.com if you need UFP parts and can't find them.

The seal is a part that may be in stock at an auto store, though make sure it has double lips and matching numbers. Not just the size.

Here is a link to the seal on the BCB Parts page.
