I agree with coach...the last time they lowered LBJ, the spawn was erratic at best. All the shallow vegetation froze and changed the spring habitat. FATCAT, I live just across the lake from Longhorn Resort...less than a mile. Let me know how you do this weekend.

The crappie in LBJ are dependent on the flow of the river. I have a friend that lives on LBJ He fights the crappie habitat constantly. We have found crappie around docks when the water is not flowing too fast.
We have found that the beer drinking is more consistent than the crappie fishing. LBJ is a hard lake to fish. Fishing under the green lights at night with minnows works better than lures.

I did worse than you...zero fish. Even the old standyby spots were void of life.

Fatcat, what part of the lake did you primarily fish? I fished up the Colorado and marked shad around the mouths of creeks...but no takers.

Has anyone tried the power plant lately? Should be pretty good now after this cold spell.

I live in Kingsland, but have not spent much time fishing on LBJ, am ready to try it. Have not crappie fished in very long time. Could use some help. Have boat, desire, but not much rigged for crappie, have always bassed. Anybody wanna try when the the weather warms up?

Hey Fatcat,
LCRA was closed the Power Plant down to the public because of all the trash. They have put up a fence so that you cannot drive down tothe lake.
