I was thinking about making the run to Fairfield.

How's the water level?

Can you launch without damaging your boat?

Yep. Just do it carefully. Use the center of the ramp.

I was there Sunday. I chickened out when I got there. There was a dodge dully with a pontoon boat stuck at the bottom of the ramp. Could not get the boat off w/ four guys. So I turned around and went to Richland Chambers. Located good bass on docks in about 5-6 feet of water. AS LONG AS THE SUN WAS OUT. With the clouds could not buy a bite.

i lunch at fairfield 2 weeks ago in a 22' there is a sand bar about 10' from the ramp i just stomped the brakes and let the boat drift over. best place to pick up the driver is about 35 yards past the ramp theres a little points thats drops off to 6 ft pull right on the beach

As some always claim it isn't the length, it is the side rub that counts.

The water surface was lapping at the lower edge of the concrete ramp end last Saturday. I measured 0.9ft of free board under my keel last weekend as I passed over the center most part of the berm, while in still water. A modest size wave can take most of that away, but only momentarily. I still do not have to troll in and out. Use the dead center of the ramp. I would not recommend going if the winds are up, both prevailing winds blow across the ramp face. Or get there real early and leave real late.

Launch with the least amount of weight aboard that you can. Pick you buddy up 20 yards inland up the creek bottom. Have a pole or paddle available.

Aside from the launching issues, how has the fishing been. I normally love fishing the reeds this time of year, but image they are all dry, right?

I fished for reds, results could have only been one 23" red fish worse. Raised one dink LMB, and for a little spice I took 25lb of catfish in two fish.

The hot outfall is 20F lower than normal, and running at a reduced flow.

There is may be a stretch of 20 ft of reeds still touching water edge. I suspect that place will be "reel" crowded during any LMB tournies.

Bring a mug of coffee and plenty of drinks, squint, squeeze and drive all the way to the ramp, then pee! Also pick a tree that looks particularly peeked. Drain your bladder before you leave the park gate high point.

If you have an american indian friend who knows the dance, give him a free day at the lake!

Don,

Do you happen to know the water temps now? With reduced flows and reduced volume, seems like the water temps might get pretty low...more so for effects on Tilapia than the reds.
