I still don't know what I think of the new section, but I'll try anything once!

Here's my DIY project, too big to post here:

You should see it in person...Henry's done a lot of work on that thing and it's a great looking fishing boat...

It looks great. I'm going to steal your idea for the front of the boat. I like that box, plus I've been struggling with how I would mound a bow mount trolling motor and it looks like you have it whipped.

Thanks, guys, it was as much fun as it was work. JD, if you want more ideas, you should visit this section at TinBoats.net. I didn't find that site until after I did mine, but it is full of other's projects. They are not all as simple as mine, some of these guys can weld aluminum and aren't scared to remodel a boat!

That site is awesome.. There are several conversions on there of my exact boat, a 14' starcraft.

Thanks,
jd

TPWD requires that the TX numbers be displayed on the bow. How about if I get numbers that aren't quite so contrasting and add paint around the registration decal to make an eye like this? (I haven't actually done this, I just touched this pic up with a photo editor.) The problem with adding eyes on this boat is the view from the front. If the eyes look set correctly from the sides, it comes out looking cross-eyed when viewed head-on.

So put the Eyes in front of the TX Numbers.. when the sticker changes it will mess up your eyes any way! cheers

That looks awesome! I am a member on tinboats.net and did a 14' Lonestar project that I am rather proud of. Yours is much nicer though I have to admit. thumb
