I have a question for whoever might know. Would it be good to buy a Digital Fish Finder Device and use it Inshore like not in a boat but, fishing Inshore you know what i mean? well i was researching and i came about this idea buying one and using one inshore to help me find and now if any fish are close by to fish or to move to several spots to use the device...any advice either to buy one or not and what type of device would be good???

So you're wanting to use a fish finder from the bank, right???? Something like this is what you'd want. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa...&hasJS=trueWelcome to the board. Jay

sorry if i sounded confusing, but yes psycho fishing right off the bank, and maybe using a device to let me know if fish are near by if not to find another bank spot. And by the way i was checking out that device but before i buy it, does it really work? and is it worth buying it?

i know a guy that has one of those portable fish finders. We'll be fishing at the lake on a pier catching fish and he'll pull up with his fish finder, throw it in the water and say yup there's fish here alright! lol
I guess you could use it if youre actually going to move around and not be posted up on the pier.

Complete waste of money pards.
No depthfinder will show fish in less than 5' of water. Which 99% of the coast is less than that far from the bank.

I know I posted the link to it, but honestly I don't know if it's worth squat.
I fish from a boat, and have never used anything like those things. To me, it does look "gimmicky". I just remembered seeing them in a catalog, and posted up the info.

It's really simple if you let it be...
A sonar cone at 5' is maybe 3" in diameter. What could you expect to see swim through that small window? Not much.
