Great video Ronnie, quite informative, thanks for posting.

In that video, Jeff said that they can scan a paper map and incorporate it into their electronic charts. Having GPS capabilities on my boat is REAL new to me. I was on Sandlin the other day and pulled up to the State Park humps and noticed that there was no detail for that area at all. The same for up under the 1521 Bridge. I'm sure there are a number of areas on various lakes that I will run into this situation, areas which they could not access. I have the 2007 S-3 Premium chip. Do you know if they have, or are planning, to incorporate paper map data on future releases for areas such as these?

i dont know for sure. i think the paper charts they are refering to are for offshore public data maps- and not private owned paper charts on inland lakes. I think that would cost them a fortune to buy the rights to use someone elses map. if you study the gold chip you will see all kinds of offshore pipelines, rigs, and just general public data all incorporated on top of thier private bottom contour surveys.
