not much you can do except change pcu, any other mods to engine are outlawed by epa, all outboards made after 97 are covered by that law ,oh you can change the gearcase , but any powerhead mods are illegal ,you wont find a reputable mech that will do any

believe me, i've been looking into that stuff for my 250XS myself. brucato is a good place to start, but here's a better place for some trick stuff on the 3ltrs. Simmon Motor Sports. Eric has a light weight flywheel and other items for ya. www.simmonmotorsports.com i've personally thought about drilling a hole in the airbox so it's like the 300xs, but i recently heard it didn't do anything for performance. i still may try it on mine.

I 2nd Eric Simon. He has my 225 Opti. Running the DYNO Thursday and on lake Friday. Will let ya know.

The plus to Eric is he has direct access to the most up to date ECU programs. He just got a new program load last week for the Opti that he can run from his laptop. He can make changes while running on the dyno. Trying it out on mine to see what it does Thursday. We hope that it does what he thinks.
