I have a lifetime hunting/fishing license and I was wondering if it would also cover Texoma or if I need to get a Texoma fishing license also?

I understand that Texoma is its on governing body of water and you will have to get a Texoma fishing license specifically to fish that lake. It is not like Toledo Bend. Where Texas and Louisiana honors each others license.

If you stay on the Texas side of the lake you are okay. But if you cross the river channel into oklahoma you will need a Texoma or oklahoma licence.

Outdoorsman, do this if you don't want to hassle with renewals every year --- But a lifetime non-resident Oklahoma fishing license. They're just $250 and gives you lifetime access to all Oklahoma lakes, not just Texoma. That coupled with your lifetime TX license and you ought to be good to go.

70% of Texoma is in OK so be carefull if you dont get a Texoma or Ok license. Special Texoma Lic is $12 per year and allows you to be anywhere on the lake with no other lic needed

Birddog,
$12 bucks for a Texoma license is by far the cheapest, and best way not to get a ticket. It's good from Jan 1 - Dec 31st. So buy one, and carry it next to your Texas license and you're golden!

It would only work on the Texas side. Oklahoma is the hold up on this lake. You can buy an out of state lifetime combo small game and fishing fairly reasonable.

Why doesn't OK reciprocate on fishing licenses acceptance like LA does on Toledo Bend?
This is 2009, not 1972, isn't it?

Can you buy the Texoma license anywhere you can buy TX licenses, or only in areas close to the lake? I'm planning a trip there the last week of the month and plan on putting in long before anything will be open.
