HOPING TO GO THIS WEEKEND? HAVEN'T BEEN OUT BECAUSE OF THE HUNTING SEASON, I'M READY FOR A CHANGE OF PACE...NEED TO GET SOME CATS IN THE FREEZER.
I like fishing, I like hunting and my wife doesn't give me any grief when i do either one. How cool is that!

Water level is still a little low. I see you have a fun deck, I launched my 21' party craft in about five minutes, had to work it off of the trailer but loading it on Sunday should be no problem. Fished yesterday and today, slow...cannot find the baitfish.
Good luck.

I fished the banks today from 2pm to 7pm from 3 different spots and threw everything at them and not a single bite. It was overcast, wind in my face and cool. I tried danny kings, lewis kings, big marvs, chicken liver, shrimp, squid and even some live bluegill and tiny shad. May try again tomorrow.

Couldn't find the bait but I didn't try anywhere but the docks. Used shrimp by the outlet and downrigging... nada. Hopefully tomorrow.

Fished crappie wall on Friday caught a few small channels, friday was not a good day for anything. Saturday was slow, today heated up a bit for me with the channels only on marvs bite was good from about 6am until 11am. Headed back out to fish the evening and stay the night on the water.
Anyone know where there is a large amount of perch on the lake?

Slow yesterday, twenty blues and channels. They are heavy right at dark, like Cliff and some others said earlier in the month. Railroad tressle right at dark on liver and big marvs.
Good luck and tight lines.

WhiskerRay, Go towards the power lines. Just before you get to them you will see a very large reed bed on the right. About center of the reed bed you will see a little opening in the reeds you can slip your boat into and go back into the reeds. They are in there as thick as molasses. Lots of good bate size ones if that is what your looking for. Or if you want some pan friers, their in there to.

I ALAWAYS see a few bass fisherman flipping in those reeds and always one in that exact spot. Also come out to the middle of the lake at that reed area before the 2 bouy markers at teh powerlines and there is a hump that gets pretty shallow, reds always like to hang out there. I was out there this Sunday and did ok. Caught about 9 cats but only kept the biggest 5. Also thought we had at least a 20# cat by the way it was pulling the drag... just happened to be the biggest softshell turtle I have EVER seen! Was a little dissapointed to say the least. This was past the powerlines by the no dredging sign. Shad was holding up around the discharge on the windswept banks. Also at the fish cleaning station I saw a guy scaling a HUGE bass, had to be around 10lbs. I think he caught it on a jugline though as I saw him earlier checking them. Didn't know there was bass that big in the lake, I could stick my head inside that bass's mouth lol.
