Hey there, everyone. I'm having a problem with the trailer lights on my bass boat. I can only get them to work when I plug the trailer plug into the truck plug really hard and hold it. Like it's not making a good connection or something.

I've done a good bit of cleaning out all of the metal on both plugs, looked for anomalies in the wires, that sort of thing, but to no avail.

Any advice to get me back out on the water ASAP is greatly appreciated!!!

I would replace the trailer plug... Prolly your easiest fix first.. Shouldn't be more than 3-5 bux at academy... If that doesn't work, it could be the trucks recepticle...

I had the same problem, it was the trailer plug.

My two favorite things, trailer lights and trailer tires.

Wiggle the pins in both plugs, pull the wires on the back side of the plugs to see if you can find a loose pin, that would narrow down the loose connection and you can repair as needed, instead of throwing parts at it untill it is fixed....

Well replacing the plug for the truck end did the trick. I'm glad I found a tester at Academy that tests the connection at the truck cuz I was all gung-ho on replacing the plug on the trailer.

Thanks for the responses.
