Joey I agree with you completely about being able to store it, but it goes bad so fast. If we could get this ethanol out of the gas it would be good for everyone in my opinion. It has only hurt the milage of your road vehicle because it takes twice the ethanal to make the same power and go the same distance. Also, I know they say that our road vehicle motors and outboards can handle a percentage of ethanol but they build them to run on gas.

You all aren't making me very enthused about buying an engine powered boat. I've been following craigslist every day looking for something.

I have a kayak and a center board sailboat at the moment and primarily kayak and bank fish. Maybe I should not exand beyond what I have.

No reason to be discouraged in buying a engine powered boat. These are just things you have to deal with.

What if I'm using Ring Free do you use it in combination with the Stabilizer? I'm in the process of breaking my motor in I sure don't want to blow it up.

Thanks for the great info.

what Allison1 said, only a few gallons at a time.

besides, it would take me FOREVER to burn all the gas in my tank if i filled it up, all 40 gallons of it. way too big.

I manage the financial side of freight for a company that spends $150M to $200M annually on freight and I monitor oil and diesel daily. I think that we are looking at low prices for the next year barring a major conflict in the Middle East. A good part ($30-$40) of the run up last year was pure speculation. When you hear the big brokerage houses start to talk $100 - $150 fill your tanks. As far as gas in my boat I used to always try to fill up outside of the metro area. I have an older Merc with milled heads and can tell you that I lost about 250 rpms when they came out with the oxegenated fuel for the metro area. I do not know if you can escape the ethanol anymore.

It has been very cold so I figured alittle bit of it might have been from blowing hot air into cold air, but not sure.

I'm NO mechanic, but white smoke sounds like a head gasket!

monte,

i use seafoam (like you use ring free) and when storing i use the fuel stabilizer.
it won't hurt a thing to use them both as they don't do the same thing.

I use both with each gal. of premumum gas I run, it maybe overkill, but it seems like cheap insurance to me......

I run stabil in every tank. It does no good to add stabilizer after the fuel has sat for a while. It has already begun to breakdown, and most fuel stabilizers do not recondition gas (there are some that do). You really need to stabilize the fuel the minute it goes in your tank.

I use the storage dosage all the time. Never know if something will happen where you won't be able to go out for a while.

I run ring Free in every tank as well. Prefectly ok to use both.

HEY GUYS THEY HAVE TAKEN THE ETHANOL OUT OF THE GAS FOR NOW, IT COSTS TOO MUCH TO ADD WHEN OIL GOES BELOW 50.00 BBL. ASK THE STATION OWNER IF ETHANOL IS IN THEIR FUEL AND IF SO LEAVE. I GET PURE GAS 93 OCTANE HERE IN O K CITY AND UP HERE THE STATION HAS TO LABEL IF AND HOW MUCH ETHANOL IS IN THE FUEL. AS FOR THE WHITE SMOKE I OWN A JOHNSON 175 AND IT IS THE OIL GAS MIX (TOO MUCH OIL) BUT THIS IS NOT GOIN TO HURT ANYTHING AS A BUDDY OF MINE HAS BEEN RACING TWO STROKES FOR A LONG TIME AND HAS RECOMENDED ADDING A LITTLE EXTRA TO MY MIX AND IT RUNS BETTER.

try the lucas fuel stabilizer and injector cleaner, in your tow vehicle too, best stuff I ever put in a fuel tank, the best thing is it works equally well in diesel or gas a qt at wally world goes for about 10$ and does 100 gals of fuel. try it and see your mileage will go up about 1-2 mpg on the tow vehicle and the boat motor will run much better as well. and no I dont work for them, just used to drive a semi and it worked wonders in the big motor.
