Just wondering how the fish are biting on Grapevine Lake since the cold front blew in yesterday 10/18? Planning a trip tomorrow and wondering how successful it may be?

Thanks,

BF

Are there any ramps open now? I kayak and bank fish but I was just curious. I kayak some days and never see one boat. We all know how grapevine is so I figure the ramps must all be closed.

Somethingsmells...
Something's gotta be open. I caught a nice grass carp on flyrod off Murrell Park last year while fishing for crappie from my yak. Would have been a blast, but alas, I had no net and had to wave a fellow fisher dude over to assist. smile
BruceFire, you might want to ask around on the specific threads pertaining to your target fish. Sorry I can't help w/ bass and I'm not sure if G'vine has Hybrids. who_knows

I'm a new kid on the block and I see ya'll have some pretty clever names .... somethingsmellsfishy and fly. Thanks for your reply.

We did go to Grapevine yesterday. We found a ramp open, barely, on the Southwest side near a marinia. Also, further down the bank, near the ball fields, it looked like there was another ramp open as well.

We caught 3 small stripers and one bluegill. We found a lot of bait fish, but I guess they just weren't biting. Slow, but beautiful weather.

Bruce...just so's ya know. There are no hybrids or stripers in Grapevine.

What you caught were sandbass (close cousins to both stripers & hybrids).
10" minimum length
25 per person limit

Good fishin'
