Grapevine is around 8 ft. low right now.

Here a link for you to check the lake levels out.

That would be Denton Creek.

I've made two trips down the creek recently.

One trip from the relief overflow at 377 to the far north bridge over 377. On this tip I caught 26 crappie, all on jig and bobber, a few keepers but most were small. Water was low and if you go down the creek you'll be dragging the boat some, not too bad though.

The other from Hwy 170 to the relief overflow at 377. The creek where I put in at the highway is very clear and low. You'll drag your boat quite a bit on this section of the creek since the creek is so low. On the up-side, the creek is real clear and you'll see the fish you aren't catching. I did not fish this section of the creek, spent my time enjoying the views. When you get to the merge at Deton creek the water color changes dramatically, much more stained but not too bad. I caught 10 crappie once I got to Denton creek on my way to Hwy 377, all were keepers over 12". Still quite a bit of boat dragging but until we get some rain that's the way it's going to be.

Both sections will do better if we get some rain soon.

Yep, that's what I was curious about the water level in the creek. We do need some rain. I fish there in the yak some,is that what your ride is Dave905?

My creek boat is one of the old water wagons. Custom painted, blue and yellow. Works great but you have to dress to be in the water. I rented a yak and did the creek below ray roberts last year. Haven't decided if I want to trade in the water wagon for a yak. The water wagon is great to fly fish from.

Yep, I think it would be tough for me to fly fish from my yak, but I'm not to good at it when Im upright either LOL.Fished 25 miles of the White River in Arkansas last summer in the kayak, it was a blast. Fish the Brazos, and some pretty good tanks at the deer lease on a regular basis.

You would enjoy a kayak most likely.
