I've been deer hunting all winter just wanted to know if anyone had any new up dates. Do you think we will be able to fish there this spring and summer?

You can fish there now, the road is open. As far as bait or drinks or food, you better bring it with you. Not sure what ramps are open. I have been fishing Trinity, Matagorda, & Baffin mostly since the storm, but have heard fishing is not bad in East Bay.

Thanks fastpitch. My freind has ( had) a house there. They went down a few months back and haven't been back.

There wasn't hardly anything left on Bolivar, and most people won't be able to afford to rebuild.

I watched the day to day coverage Via internet from the local news down there. Gilcrest is 99.99% gone. The one yelleow house was only thing standing. Main thing is they got the road fixed.

Good question. I know that the building was still standing after the storm.

I forgot the name....maybe it's "Outriggers" ?? The little burger joint with all the little funny signs posted inside. Are they rebuilding it...as far as you can tell ?

No, cant say that I have. I bet a lot of new places will open there in the next 3 years. Only reason I went there at all was to check and see if a lot was being mowed. Good thing a house was never built on it. But boy, have people been trying to buy it in recent years ! It's not for sale, nor will it ever be.

Hey - Bolivar Rick, or whoever
I have always stayed on Stingeree canal at a house called (fishbones)its across the canal,, next to last house on the canal. It was still standing after the storm, what are the chances there will be any houses on that canal to rent this spring and summer. I have stayed there dozens of times. Made lots of good memorys really sad. Hope it gets back going.

Thanks,

Not to sure about that one.It depends on how the foundation is and if the house is safe enough to live in.Power is another issue!I would think if stingeree is opening in Feb than you should be ok bye late march..Call your Rental provider and see if they have any info.Goodluck!
