A buddy and I are planning on heading out to one of the crappie houses on Monday. Which one do you guys recommend? This will be my first time fishing any of them so I thought I would ask the experts first.
Now that's a mess of good eatin!

If you go to Joe Pool go to the one at Joe Pool marina, the one at Lynn Creek is too shallow. I haven't been to Joe Pool in a while so I don't know how the bite has been. Wish I could help more.

Ray Hubbard= hit or miss. Go when the temps are cold (tons of brush so be prepared to lose baits and get frustrated, but they are there)
Joe Pool-Been once, it sucked
Lewisville- Decent, but a lot of small fish. Maybe a keeper out of 10-15 fish caught

So on Monday when temps are supposed to be in the 60s probably might not be a good time to visit these barges huh?

I would still go. It has been cold all week so the water should be cold enough for some good barge fishing.

Yep! Anthony is right. Might just be some nice Crappie looking for a cute little jig. I wish I could go, got the 2nd case of the flu this winter. Have had no cold or flu since 1997 and I am paying my dues this winter for sure.

I have fished that barge my whole life and when the temps are not down right nasty cold, I have never done that good. I havent fished it in spring, so I cant say anything about that time of year.
If you do go, go in the morn or in the evening and fish "outside." Day time bite is pretty slow, but you can catch some fish "inside."
