Where the heck do they come up with this stuff at? Report for Lavon says to get em at the bridge. Raybob, in the creeks, and Texoma has no idea what they are talking about. They just say to use jigs or minners. Why even put the reports out, they are wayyyyyy off in my opinion. Im not sure I have ever seen a link to what they say on there, and the reports from the tff.

I always get a kick out of jigs or minnows over brush piles on Grapevine when technically there should be none.

They used to be more germaine before Al Gore invented the Intrawebs, where you can now get up-to-the-minute reports and info is disseminated much more efficiently. They are probably getting their reports from bait shops or marinas and it is pretty vague. I still read it every Wednesday, just because I have done that for years and years...

Brian,
Man, I agree. I stopped using that stuff when I realized 2-3 years ago that I can get more useful, up-to-date reports right here from folks on TFF.
Many of the lakes say the same stuff...over and over again and very generic and uninformative.
It's garbage if you tell me. Growing up, Bob Hood of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram had pretty fresh, up-to-date stuff, but haven't looked at his reports since coming to TFF for reasons stated above.

I think it is just the crappie section. With other species, they are more accurate.
Take a look at the coastal reports and usually when bass fishing gets ramped up, they have some more detail.
It should only be used as a secondary source to a forum of this nature, but yes, the crappie sections are pathetic

I've notived the same thing sometimes they dont change for weeks at a time. It seems like they always say fair-good on minnows and jigs.

The problem is where most of the reports come from - bass guides. We have to take what we can get.
As for RayBob Brian, they have actually been catching them in the creeks.
If you guys have suggestions, I am all ears.
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

If you guys have suggestions, I am all ears. Oh I know they have been catching them in the creeks. I think it's funny how the reports differ so much from lake to lake with basically the same info. A suggestion would be in my opinion a way for the common angler to upload reports of catches. Not much unlike here. Not really a forum but a post board where you can tell what you caught, where and how. I can see a few reasons why it would work and probably twenty why it wouldnt.

I know that Daves Ski must be the one that does the report for Texoma. Only becasue he always pushes that worm glo and I ALWAYS see it on the Texoma report for cats.

yep, why not have me give the Cedar Creek report and other guides give other lake reports. Ofcourse the problem with that is that some guides dont actually fish the lake often enough. I always get a kick out of that, when they say how good something is when they havent even been out there in a month. That stuff they print they must dream it up.

The only faint bit of info I get from reports is the current water temps. Then I add or subtract about 5 degrees!

Bears repeating...have someone(preferrably guides who go all on a particular lake mostly for their business). That'd be worth reading. Great idea, Chuck.
