I hit something in the water today and took a 1" by 10'gouge in the fiberglass. It's through the paint to the black fiberglass. It did not hole the boat but looks terrible. Will this compromise my hull? How much does something like this cost to fix? Thanks

betcha it was a rebar..put in by folks who cannot remember where the stumps are ..
fine for awhile ..then get hit and bent over to just the perfect
angle to hole/gouge your boat.
when I see them I pull them out ,and sink them

not only illegal ,but do a lot more damage than idling over a stump. one of my pet- peaves

heybalor. I'm pretty sure it was something metal. I was fishing a cove near Port Aransas (boot cove). Anyway took it to Mikes Fiberglass repair out of Rockport. No structural damage he put a sealer on it at no cost to protect the fiberglass while I use it until the 1st of March when I get it fixed.. The cost of repairs to make it pristine is 2100.00. I just bought the boat four weeks ago and this was only my third time using it. Well, there goes my low insurance rates.
