With the new approache to glass cranking rods, which is more sensitive. When I talked with Power Tackle today I was told that glass rods, when done right, are more sensitive than graphite. thoughts.

Saw an article on Bassfan stating that Mark Menendez is now on the Power Tackle Staff. Too cool.

I was turned on to look at these rods by an excellent fisherman as well. Seems like they are starting to get the word out. Still interested in what crankbait fisherman feel about glass vs. graphite.

I know the guys that started Power Tackel and they are good guys. If you don't like the price or the rod don't buy it Kernan never knocked any rods he just gave you his 2 cents and if you took it any other way you did not read it. Some may like the rods and some will not if you like Falcon than fine go buy it.

brewski - I am guessing you talked to Tim about the rods. Tim has forgotten more than I know about rods.

Regarding cranking rods, here is what I look for, and what I have found in the 7 ft cranker from PowerTackle.

Light - it is lighter than any other glass cranker that I have put in my hands.

Glass - it is glass. This is what I want for my cranking rod.

Parabolic - this rod flexes evenly throughout the backbone of the rod. The whole rod is working to keep your fish from throwing your bait, not just the tip.

As for sensitivity, the only thing I need to know from a cranking rod is if I am in a fishes mouth, or on brush(or whatever structure I am fishing). I can certainly determine that difference with this rod. But if you are wondering about sensitivity by comparing it to feeling a bite with a graphite worming rod - I can't do this with my cranking rod.

I saw some down at Southwestern Parts off of Mockingbird. Not sure that is the best place to buy - it is the only place I simply know of.

I too saw them at Southwestern Parts. Should be an excellent place to buy because I believe they are all priced the same at retailers but not certain on that.
