if in fact that is the rule I guess that puts me out for any future tournaments on Cedar Creek. I guess it puts anyone out that guides for a living from fishing there home lake.

I was thinking the same thing. I am out for the first 2 tourey's any ways. I have trips on the books for spring time crappie on those dates in March and April. I am sure that I will renew my membership to help support the club however I can.

Great job Club, no advantages here, but thats the way it is supposed to be. I just got back from a Loooong drive from houston and doubt I will tote my oversized crappie machine that far(livingston) but I will try to make as many as I can that are in reach. Not trying to make a trophy title, with my accessible time available time, but I agree it is a perfect schedule that should fit every CAT Angler in Texas You could not came up with a better plan, nor group of people to run this awesome club. Texas C.A.T Rocks! Just happy to be a Member.

From what I was reading guides can fish a tourney on any lake, they just have to compete in the Division I not Division II which is reserved for slouches like me.
But I could be wrong.

But I could be wrong. Yes we can fish a lake that we guide on however I think what Chuck is saying is that it is better to feed our family than to chase points by having the lake we make a living on off limits. I have no problem with it at all. I think that the board made a good rule. If it works out that I can fish I will, if not I won't.

Cliff, thanks for your '08 support for CAT and your seiminar. Yes, you can fish your home lake and any other lake for that matter in Div 1.
I encourage all member and prospective members to attend the opening '09 meeting 1/13/2009. The board will be there in entirety and there is no better way to address your questions than when you are there.
I look forward to meeeting all of you!

I think they were refering to the fact that they have to be off of a lake that they guides on for a whole week(4 days) ...just so they can fish the tournament. That's a potential loss of revenues if they wanted to fish that particular tournament ...Chuck(CC), Cliff(RR,Texoma), Paul(RR), etc. In Chuck case, it doesn't apply because there is no tournament on CC this year.

Livingston?
Cool! DFW is way too far to travel to on a weekday to attend a meeting but, if tournies are going to be in places other than just the N. Texas area, I'm in.

Livingston looks like a pretty small lake. What's the predominant structure in this lake?

It just depends on the time of year.
During the CAT date mentioned above, late march, laydowns along the creeks feeding into the upper lake will be a good place to get a start. White Rock, Caney, Harmon, and Bethy are all large creeks that hold fish if you hold your mouth right.

All of us will have miss work so we can prefish these tournaments some of these are a very long distance. The first one is more than 3.5 hours from the Carrollton meeting location. I can tell you our team has not fished any of the new lakes but we are up to the challenge. We are all going to have to make the best of it. I just hope that all the guys who voiced thier need for these tournaments to be more spread out show up. We also have plenty of notice and should be able to plan this far in advance. I think the board is trying to be fair to everyone I for one support thier position. Good job
