I wish I knew a place within the metroplex for some bluegill like that...
I grew up in Ohio near several old quarries and those quarries held some similar sized bluegill. Slip floats at various depths along the quarry walls with a leech was the presentation of choice... excellent fight reeling up a saucer from 20-30' of water on ultra light tackle.
