Looking for a new tow vehicle and all around family truck. Would definately get a crew cab. Just wanted to hear from some owners on their likes/dislikes about their vehicles. This vehicle would also be a work driver (20 miles round trip). Thanks!

My 2cents. You dont need anything bigger than a half ton if your just pulling a bass boat. All the half ton trucks have 300+ hp engines that will just about yank the trailer out from under a boat. I bought a chevy from monty at moritz and have been very pleased with it. I am at 104,000 miles and the only thing I have done is change the front brake pads. I get 21mpg on hwy 16mpg in city and 13 towing my ZX225.

I agree with Chris B, go with a half ton crew cab. They all have their pros and cons.

Nissan Titan - lots of room, tons of torque and horsepower and known reliability. Also, our tax dollars aren't paying for them, so no double dipping by the manufacturers. grin

Boomer Sooner PhilR! The Titan is actually my favorite of all of them. I would put the new Ram a close second. You own a Titan? If so, have you been happy with the performance?

Yes sir, I have an 06 Titan and love it. All the towing power you need (pulling a Champion 202 w/225 Merc. Respectable gas mileage if you can keep your foot out of it. grin I think you would be very pleased with a Titan. cheers

FYI - I'm not a dealer - just a satisfied consumer.

r going new or used?
if going new stay away from the diesels for now. the mileage is not going so hot with the 6.7 from dodge and ford and chevy are have problems with the new DPF.
i really like the crew cab Z71. My mom has a 2008 that gets around 20mpg, 14-16 with her boat.
ultimate truck for me is a 2003 dodge diesel 2 wheel drive crew cab. these trucks get unreal mileage if you can drive them nice. my dad's truck gets 23mpg and it is 4x4.

I'll probably be going new. I bought an '02 Chevy Trailblazer with 2 miles on it in October of '01. I've been blessed to not have any problems to speak of since. Knock, knock, on wood. It's currently got over 118,000. I tend to keep vehicles for a while otherwise I would lease. Prior vehicle was a Jeep Cherokee, had 195,000 before I traded it in '01. Not sure why I keep 'em so long. Guess I like not having that payment for the 2-3 years. I really appreciate the input, please keep it coming. Any Chevy truck owners/dealers out there?

I've got an 03 2500hd Durmax GMC and me and my family love it. Good fuel mileage, pulls everything on our place(08 Bluewave 07 37foot 5th wheel) and all I've ever put into it is two batteries.
