For those looking for a new spinning rod, the Bass Pro has the Johnny Morris Signature Series Spinning Rods on sale for 69.77/ea. These are last year's models, have an 85 million modulus graphite core and use Titanium rod guides.
You absolutely will not find a better spinning rod for the money.
