I have made a bunch using noodles and pvc . They dont take up alot of space in the boat. The problem is that they are hard to paint white. The paint doesnt want to stick and in Texas they have to be white. I havnt found any white noodles. Another problem I have had is that a big (over20lbs) catfish can drag them under water without trying hard.. Caught this on one of the noodle jugs a couple months ago.

Use white duct tape and wrap those noodles. I think the tape also helps them from getting banged up. You might find the noodles on ebay or another online auction.

Nice jugs and nice fish but the state regs require them to be all white in Texas, the white duct tape would work.

i dont use the PVC on mine, i just use the noodles, wrapped in white duct tape, w/ reflective tape on top. The tie the line thru the noodle. you will have to use clothes hanger or something of that sorts. If i am using anchored jugs (weight reaches all the way to bottom) i use 1/2 noodle. If using free floating i use 1/3 noodle, since i am gonna be right on top of my free floating anyways. I hard tie both hooks on my anchored jugs and put the weight at the bottom on a big snap swivel. that way when i am done i can wrap the lines around the noodle, hook the hooks into noodle, and take off weight and have nice, neat stack of jugs in my big duffle bag. For my free floaters it simpler. I have both hooks hard tied with 12" of leader, and 3-5 cast net weights strung between their swivels. i just wrap them up, hook the hooks, and toss in duffle bag. I would show pics, but do not have with me.

I do not rec. the use of coathangers for drop line tie-off. These will break on the ends after awhile from being bent back and forth. Don't know the gauge, but I use LARGE solid copper wire for my drop line going through the noodle.
