Have been thinking about purchasing an underwater camera to see how clear the video is. I have read up on the Nature Vision Aqua Vu products. They also have videos you can view online. Without knowing the conditions they made the videos, I am not sure if they will work. Would a camera work in an area lake such as Lewisville? Anyone else have one and have used it in the area lakes near Dallas? Is the visibility clear? How far can you see? Any input would be appreciated.
thanks

Doesn't seem very useful in most of our lakes. Maybe Lake Murray or Broken Bow in OK.

Lakes in Texas, especially in East Texas, tend to have a lot of sediment in them. Maybe lakes from the Hill Country westward would be a little better.

Never had much luck with mine. As said earlier alot of sediment at the bottom. Probably in clear lakes it would be just fine.

I have one that works well. If you can see 2 foot in the water it will see about 4 foot away. I have had some fun with it and located seen some things that you would have thought were different by looking at a graph. Lots of fun !

Travis has about 20-25ft visibility during the winter.
Austin has almost 10ft right now.

I almost bought one last year but didn't. Was always afraid of what I might see on the bottom of the lake....a skeleton....

im about to use mine up icefishing while im on vacation but I have used it crappie fishing and put down to see catfish while cleaning fish... cool but not too much visibility unless the lake is very clear but fun nonetheless.. wouldnt count on it to make you a better fisherman tho!

I think only some lakes around austin and lake amistad are the only lakes that they might work on

Works fine on TB. Kind of a pain to use sometimes but fun to see the fish. I learned crappie will bite a split shot.
