Would a shad colored lure work in a pond with only bluegill in it for forage

If you move the lure fast, the fish won't care what it looks like. You move it slow and they can pick out any defects in any bait. I use a white husky jerk in the cool months in small ponds and I do fine.

One of the largest bass I ever caught in a pond came on a Rebel J10 minnow- tennesse Shad color....
