 Only showing the bottom half of the screen...Help

My old LMS-240 is only showing the bottom half of the screen. What's up with this. Please help, I cannot get it to expand and I cannot see the tutorials to scroll up and try to clear it up. Any help would be appreciated.
I know I'm a dumbarse and this is probably a dumbarse question, but I cannot clear it up.

My fishing partners was doing the same thing and was told the lcd was going bad.He could push on the corner of the unit and it would light up.
