mine is made for turkey frying and I like it a lot
(electric)

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

We've got a Rival cooker at our house. Works great. Got it at Walmart. It's not this exact one, but if I had it to do again, I'd get this one.

I just put on a fish fry last weekend for 51 people. I used three electric fryers, generic, 1500 watt types from Walgreens (on sale for about $20 each). They worked great. Adjustable temp and they cook perfectly. Using three fryers let me put a batch in one, prep the next, and so on, so I always had a plateful coming out.

Just a note, those bad boys pull some current - put only one fryer on one 20A breaker circuit, or they will pop, trust me. I used mine outside on a table on the back porch, with three cords. One extension cord to the porch, one to the house through the window, and one to the neighbor's porch!

Take a kid fishing!

Ditto that...and less wasted oil.

I just use a big pot like you would boil potatoes in. I use a good digital thermometer which I think is the key. When you dump fish in the grease it will cool it off quick, thats when i pour the coals to the grease to get it back up to temp (350) as quickly as possible. When it gets back up to temp the fish will be done...baisc thermodynamics.
