I'd like to get recommendations for a Striper Guide on Lake Texoma. This would be a family outing of 4 men, an xmas present for my dad. If I recall, April is about the best month for stripers, I've caught some before but it's been years. My thanks in advance for any recs you may be able to pass along.

---Mike

Mike, we have a couple that post on the TFF and you will get numerous replies about a lot of guides. I recommend JD Lyle , he is a friend of mine and a great guide. Give him a call and see… Plus you can fish out of this monstrous boat laugh laugh

April is not the best month.. If you can I'd push it back into May/june.

I have personally fished with all the above mentioned as well as many others on that lake over the last 15 years. JD Lyle www.texomaguide.com
is without a doubt the best guide not only on Texoma but anywhere I have ever fished.
He is a true professional .
JD's boat is second to none and uses quality equipment.

J.D. ought to buy some ad space on the forum. It would save some time and effort.

Ahhhh...who would I spend my money with if I was going to hire a guide on Texoma....two people....JD Lyle or his buddy in crime Mark Macnamara......no one else can compare to those two in terms of personality and fish catching ability.
Plus, you will learn alot too, not just catch alot....:)

My $.02 Is on JD. Um back to the original meaning of the topic. You can of course check my past post and see why. And to agree with the above post too Mark Macnamara is a dead on lure guide to be sure.

Looks like the consensus is JD. The only thing I worry about is when you click on his link, at the top it says "PLEASE BARE WITH ME WHILE I FIX SOME SITE PROBLEMS". I'm not gonna fish nekid with my dad, brother, and nephew. lol j/k ofcourse. Now I am wondering if the expression is bare or bear?

Back many moons ago... 30ish years actually, we took our boat out on Texoma and trolled for stripers. We caught several, the best being 16lbs.

Thanks to all for your input.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. Ya know this topic always cracks me up. many have opinions....
I have had hundreds of great customers from the TFf over the years and am thankfull for everyone of them.
There are many good guides up here and even more lousy ones.. so whatever you do be carefull and do some thourough homework. Things are not alwasy what they appear.

TXeagle.. in fact you make reference of my website....many have fancy websites but that doesnt make them good guides....I openly admit my spelling sucks.. my website skills are even worse.. but when it comes to fishing.. now were talking.
Would love to take you and your family fishing.. shoot me an email or call anytime.
And yes you can leave your clothes on.. Pleeez smile smile smile
