Santa and I went to Bass Pro yesterday and she, I mean he, bought me a Revo S. I was wanting to get opinions on this reel. Does anybody have some and are they pretty good reels.? Just trying to figure out exactly what I have.
Thanks guys

one of the best reels for the price in the history of all that is...
I have 3 and I like them a lot. i also have a Revo Inshore, and the S is virtually no drop in performance in everyday freshwater use.

The Revo S is definitely a good reel for the money. It can cast a mile and handle nice sized fish. Like any reel, you just have to take care of it and keep it lubed every so often. The only problem I feel with mine is that I don't have too much confidence in its ability for sustained use on deep-diving crankbaits. I prefer to use a stronger reel for these situations. Other than that - congrats on a good buy.

I have 3 as well and only one has given me a problem. Right out of the box it made a noise like a piece of sand or something was keeping it from spooling properly but I broke it down and used light oil a it works like a champ. Keep em clean and they'll last.

Yes I'm using the inshore for bass/freshwater. I like it a lot.
The longer handle really gives you a lot more leverage and torque over the standard handle. It's really nice for me becuase I like throwing a lot of moving lures like spinnerbaits and crankbaits.
Overall performance is not all that different than the S, but the inshore has more durable and corrosion resistant components should I go to the coast (which I do about once or twice a year).

I have two Revo S's, and an Inshore. The S's are great reels. But, I'm finding that the Inshore seems to cast farther for me. It seems smoother also. The Inshore is fast becomming my go to real.
