Josey Ranch has pretty good pond fishing, at least if you don't mind dinks. I'd recommend a bobber rig with ultralight bait.

Frog, I used to live near you and there are some good fishing ponds over off hebron pkwy. I grew up fishing in Carrollton. Josey ranch has dink bass, tiny crappie, and some channel cats. If you are looking for some larger fish drive over to the Target by Hebron and 35. There is a street called Lakepointe that runs next to it. You will see the ponds I'm talking about. I have caught some large fish in these ponds over the years. They have nice bass, catfish, and even crappie at the right time of the year. You can also try behind the old trinity west hospital building in that area. Park behind the building and walk to the docks. Lots of hydrilla, so my favorite is topwaters early and late. Do not consume the fish from these waters! There is a large landfill looming on higher ground less than a mile from the ponds and I'm sure the runoff water is not pretty! Good luck and post some pics!

Oh yeah, for bait on the pond off of lakepointe go get you some minnows and you will be good for multiple species. Don't try live bait in the pond behind the hospital building. The bait will swim into the hydrilla and it is almost impossible to fish the bottom. you need something that will stay on top out of the weeds and use some stout fishing line. Lost quite a few fish using 8 lb test there!

All back through that whole section is a creek and several ponds, always good fishing. If you know where the Castle Hills Housing Development is, there is a pond in the middle that is awesome for bass and channel. For the bass use plastics worms, watermelon redflake, for the channels stink bait, Secret 7, or good ol liver. The location is Old Denton past Hebron first street on the right, go all the way down and the pond has two fountains, you won't get run off either, the people are cool, just make sure that you have your lisence.
