Family called me on Friday evening and said come on down to the coast...I was not prepared since the weather forecast was supposed to be BAD...However, the NOAA and weatherman were WRONG...AGAIN..I left at 7pm on Friday and arrived at 11pm in NPID..
The winds were strong out of the south and air temps in the upper 70s
Saturday:
Started fishing Humble Channel at 9am till noontime. Caught over 100 trout and 10 keeper trout from 16" to 18" on soft plastics in red-sparkle. Drifted 200 yards on the south side of the channel. Must of been 20+ boats in that area. Water was clear and about 3-5 feet. Water temp was warm at 68 degrees.
Sunday:
I started at 6:45am in AransasBay, using topdog in bone, started hammering trout!....Caught trout in less than a foot of water along the ICW. Water was TROUT GREEN! Stopped fishing at 11am. Left with 10 trout from 15" to 18"...A lot of dink trout and rat reds..
However, I lost my Sony Digital camera, overboard this morning.

It had all my pics from Saturday..plus the duck hunting trip. Four of us got 6 red-heads in the first 10 minutes of daylight on Saturday...Too bad about the camera...but I still took a pic off my cell phone this afternoon.
Never could find sow trout...However, the water temps are still too warm. IMO..
NOTE: A friend of mine fish with three others in the Humble channel on Sunday from 8am to noontime. They boated 39 keeper trout from 15" to 18" ....All on red-plastics and gulp shrimp. They were drifting south of CPL, near Peta Island along the King Ranch Shoreline. Drift fishing in less than 5 feet of water..
I will be back the weekends of December 13th and 20th. Hope to see the sow trout move into the ICW!
BELOW ARE 10 TROUT THAT I CAUGHT ON TOPWATER THIS SUNDAY MORNING..NOTHING OVER 18"...BUT YOU CANNOT BEAT THAT TOPWATER BITE!
