Hey Cindy, glad to have you with us. Tell us a little about yourself, what kind of fishing do you do and stuff?

Hey Cindy, glad to have you with us. Tell us a little about yourself, what kind of fishing do you do and stuff? Tell you about myself huh? Well, I have been married to a wonderful man for almost 12 years now. I stay at home and take care of the house most of the time. When I go fishing I am usually looking for what else, bass. My favorite lures for bass are top water lures (like hula poppers and jitterbugs) because its so nice when I get a hit! Honestly though I have had by far the most luck with berkley power worms. Just fish them slowly on the bottom. The largest bass that I have caught is a 4 2 ounce bass that I caught off of a black rubberworm. I recently had the one that got away! She came out of the water and it was the biggest bass that I had ever seen! Probably 6 pounds at least. I got her all the way to the boat before she did a 180 and high tailed it away from the boat, snapping the line. Oh well, next time I'll get her!

Welcome, I'm not a girl but do like to fish. Your mention of hula poppers and jitterbugs did something for me. I bought a bunch of these about 10 years ago and have not tried them out. YET

I have two of those Hula Poppers, and they have resulted in zero fish for me. I also stink at using plastic worms for fishing. If you live close to me, send me a pm, and we can fish sometimes. I do conventional fishing, and fly fishing. I like all kinds of fishing, and I tie flies too. I seem to do better with crankbaits, or jigging when I conventional fish. I guess I need to watch somebody who knows what they are doing in the areas I lack. I used to be mainly a bait angler not that long ago actually. I had a few lures, but mainly liked bait, and jigging. Well, my world has been opened up to new stuff. I am learning, and this is a skill you sharpen with experience. I have also used a bubble and fly successfully, if you know what that is. Anyway, glad you are here.

Yes, you are a little quiet. But that is okay. Once you get used to TFF, you will lose any thought of shyness. These people are first rate anglers, and good friends. I found this place about a year ago. Now I have to come here everyday and converse about fishing...hehehe. (Oh and I am not usually quiet on here. Sometimes I am shy, just depends on the situation) Give me a topic like fishing, and I can talk your ear off...lol.

Hula Poppers are really really fun to catch fish on. You want to toss them not on the open waters but around the edges and by cover. Pop them a couple times and let them sit. Sometimes one pop sometimes two sometimes three. Whatever works! I also find that the poppers are best during the springtime. I am not sure why but that is just my experience. Once you catch your first fish off a popper you will be hooked! You might jump too :-) I use poppers like this kind Hula poppers work too pretty much the same thing, this one just seems a bit cheaper, and I am poor!

Thanks for the link, and the advise. I have caught fish on fly poppers, just not a Hula Popper. I will have to let it sit longer, and more near cover...I think that was where I made my mistake. THANKS!
